The heavily forested, 3,687-acre Big Ridge State Park lies on the southern shore of TVA's Norris Reservoir approximately 25 miles north of Knoxville. Visitors to the park will find a wealth of activities to meet any interest from guided nature tours to backcountry camping. The park has 19 one-bedroom rustic cabins available from April 1 through October 31 capable of accommodating six persons. Bedrooms contain two double beds and a there is a sofa sleeper in the living room. Cabins have hardwood floors and screened-in porches. There is no air-conditioning. Five cabins are located on the lakeside. Fourteen sit on the ridge. Cabins are fully equipped with linens, stove, refrigerator, kitchen hardware and grill. Fireplace is available and firewood is provided seasonally. There are no televisions or phones. Please call for pet policy. Norris Dam State Park is a 4,038-acre park, located on the Norris Reservoir, which began in 1933 as the first Tennessee Valley Authority project. Miles of trails lead hikers through deeply forested valleys and ridges. Many other attractions await your discovery at Norris Dam State Park. Located on the shores of Norris Lake with over 800 miles of shoreline on one of the most picturesque reservoirs in the TVA system, this park offers the ultimate in boating, skiing and fishing fun. The park offers a fully equipped marina, a boat ramp available to the general public, and pontoon boats available for rent. The park has 19 rustic vacation cabins and 10 three-bedroom deluxe cabins. All are located in quiet, wooded settings and are completely equipped for housekeeping including electrical appliances, cooking and serving utensils, and linens.
